Ngalampa Biik Yaluk – Come sit on Country by the Creek

Inwards, the soft and flowy waves encompassing the Meeting Place signify the healing waterways that is Five Mile Creek and its headwater – Deep Creek. For thousands of years Clans would travel from around the country and camp along Deep Creek where the women would hunt and gather food source, while the men would walk to Mt. William where they’d trade goods with the Wurundjeri people for precious greenstone. The stone was so valuable that visiting Clans would trade several prized possum skins for one stone. The stone would be used for crucial axe heads, often; only one for the whole Clan.
